Design by Design

Ten years ago, I never would have imagined that I would be spending the majority of my time staring at a computer screen weeding through stock photos and learning the ins and outs of new design programs. Like by holding control + shift, one can maintain the exact shape of an object. I know, amazing right! 😉
So, this post on design is going to be more along the lines of, who would have thought. I think as humans we often have the tendency to make plans and then lose sight of all of other available options or possibilities. It is not until these plans have been delayed for a moment, or derailed, that one begins to uncover gifts, interests, talents and passions that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. Additionally, the benefit of finding these gifts outside of the normal "I want to be a ____ when I grow up" route is that it becomes less about pleasing other people, getting the top job, and competing and more about pursuing something that is a genuine passion. A passion that surprisingly comes with ease (albeit with lots of work, practice and patience). By going through the I didn't know I could do that route, I have also managed to find my own voice while being able to respect the voice and talents of others, learning from them, but not being overcome by their boxes.
